Character: Jennifer Bernard, Nail Tech (125 points)

This is a pregen character for the 1980s GURPS Horror adventures listed on the roadmap. This GURPS-O-SCOPIC character sheet is designed to be given to a new player in one of the listed adventures: You shouldn’t need any prep. There are some additional notes about this set of overall characters if you are interested.

Notes

  • Jennifer is obsessed with getting on the Phil Donahue show by proving that ghosts exist. She has no supernatural insight into ghosts, but she’s read a lot of trashy newspapers! She has a forged press pass and a very expensive Betamax camera. That’s an early 1980s, somewhat-portable (40 lbs!) video camera consisting of both the camera and a shoulder pack, given to her by a pitying uncle.
  • In rules terms, Jennifer’s nail tech sharpened nails are treated as the perk Claws [1] which convert the cr damage of a punch to cut damage. Note that cut damage has a minimum of 1 (p. B378), so Jennifer always does 1 point of damage with her nails.
  • Despite a low intelligence this character seems reasonably survivable due to Luck [15] and Very Fit [15], although those luck rolls may be necessary to extract Jennifer from the trouble caused by being Impulsive [-10] and Overconfident [-5].
  • Remember that Very Fit [15] means that Jennifer loses FP at half the normal rate, regains FP at twice the normal rate, and rolls at +2 to avoid unconsciousness and death.
  • Jennifer’s +3 charisma bonus is already factored into Influence skills on the skill block of the simplified GURPS-O-SCOPIC character sheet.
