Robot: Zak from Reactor Maintenance (as NPC or Patron; 447 points)

Now let’s try building Zak the robot as an NPC. As discussed earlier, this is an expensive proposition. I’ve already described Zak and provided a picture. In this post I’ll flesh out what stats would look like if we used the character point system to create a robot.

I put “patron” in the title but basically, I’d say this design SUCKS as a patron unless your character does a lot of reactor maintenance. Since my starting characters are 150 points in the Deeps of Lyrae campaign, this character as a patron would cost a base 15 points (for an “extremely powerful individual”), plus if you wanted Zak as a crew member you would have to pay even more points for constant access to him. And he’s almost certainly dumber than the players. Plus he’s a pacifist. He’s not really the kind of patron a player would want to pay for!

So really, although I call this a Patron post in the title, I would not use him that way. I can’t call him an Ally according to the rules because the point total is too high for that in my campaign. I’d say really he is just an NPC for whom I have completely worked out a character sheet because I like to over-prepare.
