NPCs: Naval Officers

While scooting around the sector in your spaceship you might well encounter a patrol of the Imperial Navy. The officers of the 261st (the sector fleet) will be the ones in charge. They might report to Fleet Captain Sem (the villain) for duties involving his “special project” (see the plot). They could also be encountered running a more mundane detail on a ship of the fleet’s Patrol Flotilla, or perhaps working on a Naval Base.

One naval officer NPC will be found leading other NPC enlisted crew. For instance, she will lead a boarding party to inspect the player’s ship or be deployed in the field to command the squad performing surveillance on the party.

Imperial naval officers are among the elites of galactic society—they are smart, experienced, and well-trained.

The job of a low-level naval officer is typically leadership and administration: filling out watch lists, reviewing supply inventories, talking to subordinates, and so on. This NPC description therefore includes no specialized skills or roles. However, if a naval officer needs to have a specific background, any of the ratings and specializations from the enlisted crew or other entries can be added.
