To continue fleshing out the 261st, I’ve come up with a few example NPCs and their loadouts. This post will start with the crew on the 261st’s starships. That is, the people who actually do the work of running the ship. These NPCs could also be encountered on a Naval Base.
Crewman First Class Reginald Torontaro – 55 points
ST 11 ; DX 11 ; IQ 10 ; HT 10 .
Dam 1d-1/1d+1; BL 24 lbs.; HP 11 ; Will 10 ; Per 10; FP 10 .
Basic Speed 5.25 ; Basic Move 5 ; Dodge 8.
Advantages: Legal Enforcement Powers 1 ; Military Rank 1 (Crewman First Class) ; Immunity to Space Sickness .
Disadvantages: Duty (Military, 261st Fleet; 15 or less) [-15]; Code of Honor (Soldier’s) [-10].
Skills: Beam Weapons/TL11 (Pistol)-12, Brawling-11, Computer Operation/TL11-10, Free Fall-11, Soldier-10, Spacer-11, Vacc Suit-10, plus professional skills (see below).
Loadout: Usually unarmed and unarmored, but I’ll put some more details about exceptions in a future post.
Example Ratings (That is, Jobs)
These crewman may be assigned to man sentry posts (where they will be armed), but they are not specialized fighters. They actually have other jobs on board. To assist me in roleplaying them, example ratings and their related skills might be (24 points):
Shield Tender: Electrician-12; Electronics Repair (Force Shields)-14.
Yeoman: Administration-14; Writing-12.
Electronic Warfare Tech: Electronics Operation (EW)-14; Electronics Operation (Sensors)-12.
Fire Control Tech: Artillery(Guided Missile)-12; Forward Observer-14.
Cook’s Mate: Cooking (Institutional Baking)-13; Housekeeping-14.
